Description: The purpose of the Books and Discussion Group is to help people feel alive and connected through books and discussion. This group also seeks to increase love, joy, wisdom, compassion, peace, tolerance, health, beauty, and humor in the local community through books and discussion. The love of books and the love of dialogue are very different things but they so often go together that we decided to group them in one area although you can certainly do one without the other. Reading and dialogue connects many people with a deeper part of themselves that is sometimes referred to as the heart or soul level. If books or dialogue connects you to this deeper level of yourself then it also connects you to others in this group who understand this connection. Because you are also interested in using books, dialogue, and discussion to increase love, joy, wisdom, peace, compassion, health, tolerance, beauty, and humor then you are also connected to the entire Joyful Being network that was created to increase these values on a global scale. We are not promoting a particular book or idea, but we are a way to think about books and ideas. Do they increase your feeling of aliveness and connection and do they increase the values mentioned above? Books and conversation, especially dialogue, are a miracle. They connect you with the deepest, most individual part of yourself, but they also connect you to others, and they connect you to the world. Joyful Being encourages you to find what creates the heart or soul dimension for you, connect with your self, then connect with others, then connect with the world. Our website is a networking tool for this. Start your own group in your local community, participate in your local community and get ideas from other communities.
